It's more like you have to earn it, be the right person at the right time (that is, a trusted regular member at a time during wich there is need for more TS moderators).
Moderating powers are never "given out" to people that ask for it. More than anything, here (correct me if I'm wrong) they give it to people that are regular, trustable, and DON'T ask for the status.

Obviously you dont know who I am or my situation so I would think that unless you are the one to give the status I wouldn't give out advice!!! The admins here can handle this but I could have taken your response the wrong way so
