uh, that could be the problem. i'm not familiar with SIS boards, so i couldn't tell you anything about it. more than likely, it's included with the mobo drivers.
list all of the hardware in the box.
did you loop Memtest overnight like i told you too?
ANY errors indicates a hardware problem(RAM, mobo or cpu).
install/run Prime95. if you have an Intel chip that has hyperthreading, install/run 2 instances of Prime95. since hyperthreaded cpu's are recognized as 2 processors, set one instance of Prime95's processor affininty to processor1, the other instance of Prime to processor2. run both instances for a few minutes then check cpu temps. if ok, run BOTH instances of Prime overnight. you better be d a m n sure your temps are good. this is gonna heat your CPU a LOT. again, ANY errors indicates a hardware problem.
if you've had no errors up to this point, you've pretty much ruled out CPU, RAM and mobo as the problem IF you tested like i told you. how many watts is your PSU. have you checked it's voltages? is this all new hardware, or has it been used before with no problems?
no errors on Memtest and Prime? strip the box down, remove all cards except video. disable any onboard stuff you use in the BIOS(NIC, sound etc.). low level format the drive. reinstall your OS, then install software in this order: OS>3rd party disk controllers(if any. you will be prompted for them during OS reinstall)>mobo drivers>DirectX>all Windows updates>video driver>Battlefield1942. test the game heavily(lots of bots with high AI). no CTD problems? install your other cards/drivers ONE AT A TIME. test the game after each device install. use the latest drivers for ALL hardware.
