"Galactic Conquest Release 5 will be our last full content release as a team. We’re very happy to have brought GC to a place, in release 5, where we feel we have completed all the major work we wanted to do. It was very important to us to create a solid final version of GC before moving on, and we think R5 is a build that players will continue to enjoy for a long time.
R5 being "the end of our full content releases" is not to say we are totally dropping work on GC. We will still patch version 5 as necessary to deal with any gameplay bugs or balance issues that may occur. Also, any previously dropped features will be made available to the public for the GC community to work with- including extra art resources. A few developers may still work on public map ideas as well, and we’ll still support the community where we can.
But as a team, we'll be moving away from GC after the release of version 5.
Fortunately, I think it’s a version everyone will enjoy, and with Release 5 GC is quite probably the most complete Star Wars game anyone has ever played. ;-)
Edit: We're not done yet though! Still working on R5, and the new release. So no goodbye's just yet. ;-)
