So to get a bit back on the subject. This is directed at those of you who have already played. Is it worth getting the demo, would it be better to just wait for the release, or should I not bother with this game?

I love the game personally, I think with a full server it would be fun as hell. Though it's fun now just playing with the toys they give you. I run a server in the evenings off my wife's comp so I suggest going for it and grabbing the demo to at least see what it is like and try it there (just use the instructions I posted in the Admin forum, or the HR Tact forum if you're not an admin to get connected). If we could ever get packet to set his dedi up I think it would be a blast.

Also I didn't post the IP publically simply because I want HR and the Admins to be given a shot at it first to check it out. And I don't want every Tom, Dick, and Harry that has a friend of a friend or reads these forums themselves jumping into it and slowing it down for everyone else playing (especially considering it's on a 1.4 Athlon with 256 megs of ram). Worked fine with 6 players last night, and I would be interested in seeing how many it can take, but not without some form of controlled environment (i.e. only having it posted in 2 members only forums). Anyways I'll be on it tonight, as will Trahn most likely, Crotch if he's done with his service to purgatory (i.e. the wife) and probably some others (I know Loc will be there as well) so jump in and give it a try tonight.

Their ded. server manual saids optimally you need 400MB of RAM. But hey if 256MB works...

Probably would need 400mb+ if you were gonna max it out in people/server load.. Speaking of 'puters Hey Melt.. what kind of memory is in your wife's 'puter??? I may have some spare sitting around that I could send to you to bolster it up. I have several sticks of 256mb of various types/speeds just taking up drawer space. I may have a 512mb stick as well. You can have it - if you have need for it and can use it. It sure is not doing me any good in the drawer and I have no plans at the moment of using it.
