Are you ready Groovy Dude?
Here we go again...
Toetag is still using my generator. Looks like I'm gonna have to get it back from him. He's been without power for almost 2 weeks and is gonna be a VERY unhappy camper when I come for it on Sunday. I'm not leaving this time unless it gets to Cat 3 or higher. Hopefully it won't. I don't think my roof can spare anymore shingles lol.
I just want to know what we did to piss Mother Nature off so much this year. In the 20+ years I've lived here, I've never seen this state take such a beating.

*Sigh* Hopefully it will stay off to our EAST. I'm tired of living shuttered inside my home. My house is so dark in the morning, it feels like midnight at 7am making it extremely difficult to get out of bed. Everytime I've planned on taking my shutters down, BAMM... another storm forms off our coast.
BTW, Not sure if this pertains to your generator, but a friend of mine was telling me that you have to change the oil in the generator after every 24 hours or so of use. You may want to check your owners manual and make sure this isn't a requirement for your model.

most of my shutters are still up. with the way things are going, they won't be coming down until after hurricane season is over.
about the generator....yeah, gotta change the oil every 25 hours. he knows about the every 25hrs. oil changes. i gave him one quart of oil and the right sized wrench to get him started. he's running it almost 24/7(he's using a window AC unit), so he better be changing it about once a day. he should just buy the thing from me. i only used it 1.5 days, he's used it for over a week lol.
latest track keeps the hurricane to our east. /me crosses fingers.

hah! this time next year we might be able to fight back. there's a company in Palm Beach that is developing a biodegradable gel which is released into a hurricane by a large jetliner. it's supposed to "cool" the hurricane down which may kill it, or lower it's intensity. preliminary test on thunderstorms have been positive.
the proper follow-up question to this is, should we really use it if it works? hmmm... i know for sure the insurance companies will say a resounding YES!

There is much destruction associated with a hurricane but I think that messing wiht the Mother like that may have even worst side effects. Fla has a hard enough time with the water tables as it is, if you took away the rain provided by a hurricane it may really reak havoc on our drinking water.
Just my opinion.

Well after 14 days with no power, a trip to the hospital for my daughter, the carsonegenics from the grill, the toxic fumes from carbon monoxide and the stress from it all makes me say throw the foam.....
I just want to let everyone know that Horsepower is my personal jesus christ for loaning me the generator. Thank you, i do not know what i would have done with out it.
