I download the occasional mod for BF and maybe a demo or 2 a year. I don't mind paying for downloads so what download service (like Fileshack or Fileplanet) do you think is best? (speed, value for money, choice in files)

I would say fileplanet, but I dont have any of them so im no expert. It just seems to me that fileplanet has more files than fileshack and sometimes thay have the subscriber only can dl something a few days before its public.

Boomtown absolutly rocks...and you dont need to pay just register but speed are great and cue is low. If you want to pay then it flies.

I use Fileplanet.. Best value for the money that I have seen. I get on average 300kb/s or better. During peak downloads...ie.. like when a new mod comes out. I still can get 250kb/s. As an example.. 6 hours after FH was released, I downloaded the entire mod in 1 hour 20 minutes. While not stellar in speed... It was not bad.

Initially, it appeared it was going to take longer, but in the end, the speed actually increased as the download ran.

I subscribe to Gamespot.com. It's $20/yr and you get access to all reviews,previews, movies, screens, forums, downloads, etc. I average 350k DL's with no waits.
