Greetings from Iraq

Hi all! Thanks for your support Last week they managed to hit our classroom area with a phosphorus mortar (107 round). Needless to say its not there anymore, its a shame there were no marsh mellows in country. Will try to send Pics. I visited with Big Daddy last night and we watched Killed in action2(thanks to Aces High). Im the maintenance Shop Forman, we work on the Strykers and will try to get pics! Take care everyone

IED's are a hot issue, we get all the vehicles that get hit into our Motorpool so we can code them out.

Mmmm....vehicle graveyard. For some reason I wouldn't want to leave that place.

As to the topic of the tanks, they're deffinetly not T-72s. My guess though would go towards the T-55s. Then again though that's ahrd to say even there considering the T-54/T-55/T-62 all being of the same family.

Anyway, keep safe and don't do anything too stupid.

Baghdad, Iraq

Hello everyone,
Im in Baghdad for a week learning some countermeasures for IED's. Its been nice to sight see abit, seen Sadam's Palace and where his sons lived. I actually took a tour, which the Army actually occupies at the time. Its been getting cold here in the evenings aswell.

PS this is a pic of Al Faw Palace in Baghdad (Sadams) after the remodel

Suicide Bomber

Hello everyone, its been a long time. SSG Big Daddy came to my work area doing some Commo fills to the radios and we decided to eat lunch together. Normaly my section picks up our lunch and we eat in our company area, but I thought it would be nice to visit with Big Daddy. Low and behold as we were eating at the table talking to two of my soldiers.......... The bomb went off! It was just like the movie "saving pvt ryan" when hearing gone, and when the smoke cleared there was chaos. I made it to my stomach and started to pat my soldiers asking if there alright. Needless to say one out of the two didnt respond with help from others a managed to get him treated and into a HMMWV and transported to the Hospital. He had a Ballbearing enter his lower back and exit his stomach. It was quite tramatic and Im doing 100% better from the devistation. Ive recieved a update from the command saying my soldier is in the states and recovering(Thats the bigest relief). Im sure you all have read or seen the video on CNN. Just wanted to keep you all informed both of us are alright.
PS say the new screen shots of BF2... cant wait. SSG Big Daddy and I get together once or twice a month and play Coop! "Good times"
let me know if there is any requests of photos you would like to see. Im in Mosul but we travel out on convoys and such. Later Ispep
