XBox Mod ?
If I mod my XBOX, does that ruin online capabilities? Any insight would be great, as I want to mod it soon. Want to use it as my media hub for my stereo

Good luck. I've heard stories lately of MS banning Live accounts for having mods (something even as small as adding a bigger HD or replacing the DVD drive.)

They actually ban the entire unit for life. So basically the xbox itself will have lost it's xbox live capability.

yea unless you're damn good at mod'ing your xbox don't do it lol everyone I know who has moded their xbox has now lost online capabilities through live, except for one guy on the geek squad group but I have a feeling its only a matter of time...

been researching it all day. There is a chip that you can install and turn on and off.....I don't really use xbox online anyways...so I think that having it for a media hub for my music and videos is not a bad idea. Hell I really don't even play the damn thing.

I have my old P3 500 doing just that. It's hooked up to my TV and receiver.
