What do you think would happen if Japan and Germany had simultaneously attacked the Soviet Union, instead of Japan attacking America? Germany from the west and Japan from the south. Would America have joined the war if it wasn't attacked? And would Soviet been able to hold the pressure from two fronts?

Germany and Japan would be connected through the old soviet union. America would have waited too long to join the war, and germany + Japan would win, and control most of europe.

Yea i agree with assassin.. but i ask this what would have happened if russia joined the axis powers? if fact it there was some talk abouti t happening during the war.. also waht if hitler didn't attack russia? i mean they had a nonaggression pact so.. I think Britai nwould have been overun

Well the thing with Hitler was that he hated the Russins and did that from day 1, and IMO the whole war was about capture Soviet. The problem is that they had to secure West-Europe first, and also secure North-Africa, so the Allied wouldn't try something from that direction

Fun fun fun. Love this kind of stuff. Ok, here's my opinion and what I wished happened. (I think)

Yes, Hitler had to overrun France, otherwise that would have caused a problem. If both attacked the Soviet Union, which almost happened, the Soviets would not have had the reinforcements that fought at the battle of Moscow, because they would have been engaging the Japanese. After Russia was conquered, the Japanese would have attacked the U.S. because they couldn't stand having a large fleet to challenge them in the Pacific. I also doubt the Germans could have invaded Britain, they didn't have the warships that were critical in every allied landing of the war.

They headed to North Africa to help the Italians, I still have no idea how the British beat back their first attack, the Italians outnumbered the Brits like 6 to 1. The Germans offered to help and probably wanted to seize the oil fields which were critical to the allies and something the Germans could use. Though not too much because they would have had the Russian oilfields in the Caucuses.
