Bah Humbug
Christmas sucks. Here’s why.
As I get older, each Christmas is becoming less special than the one before. While everyone is opening their presents on Christmas morning, I watch them while at the same time wonder how long it’s gonna take to pay off that years holiday bills. I don’t see them tearing through wrapping paper around those gifts. I see dollar bills being ripped up. Heh. Am I just becoming more and more cynical as the years pass? Am I the only adult male that feels like this? Will this get better or worse as I age? Who knows...
The "suck" in this year’s Christmas season has been extra plentiful. Here are the "gifts" that Santa has brought to me so far this holiday season:
1. Back to back hurricanes.
2. $100 worth of gifts stolen from my fiancé’s vehicle.
3. Dog shit tracked onto the carpet and seat of my relatively new truck while we were doing charity work. Around this time every year a local radio station does a toy drive for needy kids in our community. Me, my fiancé and her daughter were delivering those toys to the kids when this happened.
4. Cosmetic damage to a brand new laptop. The damn thing wasn’t out of the box for 3 friggen days. We were using Microsoft Streets and Trips on the laptop to plan our toy delivery route.
Someone want to give me some cheese to go with this whine?

christmas is a huge marketing scam.
but i think its more a time for family and loved ones to remind each other they love one another-and yeah gifts are a pain in the wallet
but it could be worse you could have to sit thru hours of church

I'm a relatively old fart and so far it hasn't gotten any better.
The bills - the gift that keeps on giving i.e. credit card interest. Oh, and don't forget that in July they'll raise the rate to 21% from that low rate you started with.
The Christmas lights for the house - I have 23 and 13 yr old (very big for his age) sons living with me and neither one lifted a finger to put them up. By the way the 23 yr old is unemployed and has been for years. Therefore, I refuse to do it. I just can't get motivated for some reason.
The tree - We always get a real one because we love the smell of the pine. It's a nice looking tree but at $83.00 it somehow takes the spirit away every time I look at it.
Satisfying my wife with the right gift - well it doesn't really matter what I get her short of a $2000.00 ring she won't like it.
Ash is right. The only good thing is getting together with family and friends!
And as far as whining I actually feel a little better now! I'm glad you brought the subject up Horse.
MERRY CHRISTMAS,
SnaKe

LOL!!!
I'll start off with saying Merry Christmas!
As for Christmas lights, it's the exact opposite, if I don't do them, they probably won't happen. Since I've been ill (3 years) I haven't put the lights out like I used to. Plus school is taking time, not to mention things like chores, trains, computer, etc. Just glad I finished that powerpoint for school, I feel like the day was lengthened by several hours.
I also enjoy getting a tree, plus the price always remains the same, about 30 bucks. ($83? That's a lot)
I've always been one to decorate, which has really made the house look good. (Still haven't put the hooks for pictures back in the wall. Normally I hang wreaths from them...)
As time goes by, I enjoy it more, but the last few years I kind of foget it's Christmas. Still don't know why...
P.S. The only thing that makes me mad around Christmas is always the lack of snow, otherwise, I enjoy every part of it.

Bah, age is just a number... your only as old as you act
As for trees, gotta go live, gotta pay... I have a friend that sells 'em, so I got mine for $40, but the local farm here sells them for $80. Christmas has really lost its meaning over the years(to commercialized).... I am so not looking forward to bills in January.

haha, well I don't really care too much about buying gifts though this is the first year I've done it and had to ship almost all of them which just about doubled the price....and the only family I'll be seeing this year is my mom and maybe a friend will drive down to visit and i work about 8-10 hours everyday either starting at 5am or ending at 1am so yea I haven't had time to do shit around the house...put up my nice fake tree...kinda unsatisfying and a few decorations, some balcony lights but otherwise yea I'm broke and I've got a college and the Fed gov down my throat wanting proof that I've been working because i got a pal grant for school but ooo all through christmas employee profiles will be unavailable...so yea i could get into some serious crap for no reason, otherwise my christmas is just bland, I'd kill to have a nice family get together drink some crappy egg nog listen to a tone death cousin try and play the piano and a couple other tone death cousins try to sing, but alas i have work, school, and other crap to take care of so I have to stick around the bay, but I'm happy cuz its christmas and maybe I'll get some good food, plus i just kicked ace's ass in bfme

Ahh the fun of christmas
Im just a teenager and christmas has started to loose its charm, as now it turns into me buying all of my younger brothers gifts and basically picking out what my parents give me (not complaining about that though ).
Just last weekend I had to put up all the damn christmas lights (and for some reason last year after christmas we decided to stock up on TONS of freakin lights). It took me the better part of the weeked, after finding multiple extension cords and stringing the damn lights all over the front of the house. And then I found out that I had too many strings for the amount of exension cords that I had and I blew most of the fuses .
But all thats finally taken care of and I have a week to relax b4 going back to school
