I hate EBAY...

I need somewhere to rant... so you all gotta listen or not.
I recently had purchased a monitor from Ebay, it was the brand that Trahn recommended(not that that matters) anyway... the guy has zero feedback, so I communicate with them(2 involved) and they seem real nice and all. So, I bid, and win!!! kewl for me...yeah RIGHT... They indeed ship it out and send a tracking number so that isnt the problem. IT shows up today in a Panasonic stereo box, all DUCT taped... I open it, and it is packed with freakin Newspaper shreadings, and a little piece of bubble wrap... I am thinking uh oh... so I turn off my work puter, plug it in, it has power, but no picture, I am so pissed at this point... So, I send them an email, and these two characters, who have a website and are supposedly loan officers or whatever, after they received my email, they tell me that they filed a claim with UPS, and that UPS is coming out to pick up the item(monitor) and inspect it... So I call UPS, they infact did not do that, they called up and had it filed as damaged goods, and was to be returned directly to them(Sellers), and not have it inspected. So I have now filed a claim with UPS, they are going to call me, I explained the situation to them...
here is what is racing through my head:
A) they were planning on having it shipped back to them and collect the extra $100 from UPS and not send me a refund(which is obvious) [/endrant]

Hope it makes sense, if it doesnt and is just stupid then delete it any thoughts or recommendations would be great...

Happy Birthday to me... YES DRAYU, I should have bought the one you sent me

I will be playing tonite as I need to relieve some major stress...

First off ..... don't blame ebay. Ebay is an awesome tool, but it CAN be "lethal" if not used correctly. I've got a little experience when it comes to problems with ebayers. I'd be glad to lend a hand if you need any suggestions. ..... just send me a pm or Yahoo IM if you want further details.

Not blaming Ebay... directly... I have made some good money off of it, and my feedback is 100% with over 110 unique user feedbacks. But, I have had a run of bad luck, first, I bought Tony hawk Underground 2 for my son for Christmas, sent money, never heard back, when I contacted Ebay, they told me, they couldnt give any info. and pretty much that I was out $37(no big deal) except now the game cost me $87 for a Christmas present. The monitor is a big deal because, from the beginning it was completely misleading, and yes, I will contact you, once I hear from UPS and see how that goes... Thanx

I have a rule, not at least 20 positive feedbacks from unique users and at least a 98% positive rating, I dont bid.

You still can get screwed over, but you can get just a screwed at the store as well, so just learn from it and move on.

I don't know why ebay would have told you they couldn't give you any info. They collect a buttload of info on buyers and sellers for a reason. When I had payed for an item I "won", and the seller didn't send me the merchandise or even contact me within 3 weeks, I contacted ebay and they told me how to get the sellers info. I called the guys' home and harrassed his girlfriend, and he shipped me my stuff next day. Then when he sent my stuff in a beer box w/ a little bubble wrap, I gave him a terrible feedback. Several other people had the same problem with the guy, and ebay kicked him off. Getting him kicked off might not bring you satisfaction, but getting on the phone with him might help you straighten the situation out.

Ebay has been good to me but you don't always get what you think your getting one time i bought a gamepad off of ebay i thouhg it wasa wireless one because the picture was a picture of a wireless one... when it arrived it was the corded version of the gamepad... i was pissed that they would do that put up the wrong picture just to get some sells.. well i didn't read threw the desrciption good enough i guess.... anyway i told the company about how it was a rip off to do that and etc etc but they never replied.... anyway i ended up buying another gamepad this time i made sure it was the right one.

Hrm. Ive put about a half million through ebay in purchases in the last year alone - And havent had a single problem. (We buy a LOT of cisco/juniper kit from ebay)

There was one time about 4 years ago, i was jacked fro about 6k - The guy is now in jail for fraud, i got my money back, and all is good int he hood.

As for hating ebay? That 500k over the past year, would have been MILLIONS in 'new' expenses. I love ebay. Even if there is a few pricks out there.

I buy stuff all the time from ebay, only ever had one prob. That guy wasn't one of the power sellers, only had a few feedback. Just couldn't resist the price. I should have known better, ended up being something like 2 months from the date i won the auction that i actually got the capacitor. Emailed him all the time, no answer. Figured out his msn name and started pming him, got him to actually reply but he kept delaying. Finally just looked up his phone # and started calling him. He sure sounded suprised to be getting a call from california Got a ton of lame excuses but at least he shipped it.
