the only reason sony is so desprate to get BR on the market, is because once it becomes standard they will get huge $$$ off licencing it out.
same thing they tried to do with mini-disk.
that and sony's 3 tier DRM is not very friendly
1. it has a callhome
2. has a self destruct
3. digital watermarking
if it gets a bad packet and doesn't correctly regester the disk for whatever reason, you basically have to get a new player.
