Hd-dvd

So the next big thing at the end of this year is going to be HD-DVD. It will offer 6x the resolution of a normal DVD. If you want an idea of the difference check this example:

This is the Fifth Element Ultimate Edition which comes out tomorrow. It's being called "reference" video quality as it is the best a DVD can offer.

This is the same movie in HD-DVD format:

Also if you have an HDTV and your PC is hooked up to your TV, here are some nice examples you can DL:

Even if you don't have an HDTV, these will work on your PC, and the clarity is stunning. I've been looking at the IMAX clips.

HD-DVD's will be out in stores by this coming christmas season. Here's a list of the first HD-DVD's to be offered:

No current DVD player will play HD-DVD. You will need a new one.

Very true Bonez. I'm going to hook up my PC tomorrow (if my DVI cable comes). I ordered an IMAX movie in HD-DVD, so I'll let you know how it is on Fri.

A new contender enters the arena!

The blu-ray vs HD-DVD war just got uglier (for consumers):
