operating system thoughts
now you know about companies complaining about people "stealing" their operating system, and going after people for it.
well i just looked and for a copy of winxppro is over $300, which will let you install and (mandatory)regester a copy with hundreds of restrictions along with it.
now when it costs over $100 for an operating system that you can only install on ONE computer at a time and are forced to give personial information to the company that sold it to you, then be told you didn't go out and spend $300 - $400 to BUY the program you just LICENCED the program meaning you don't own software that you just installed on your computer and that they can terminate the software with no concent.
now the thing is, since it's not cheap at all, and for someone to build a $2000 $2500 computer and then have to shell out $200 - $400 for a part that is as required as much or more as the motherboard, harddrive, cpu, ram, and power.
if i could go out and get an actually BUY an operating system instead of some bullshit rental type deal without having to transmit information that is not needed for consumer use statistics or area stats for the company, i would be happy, but this $400 chunk of money for somthing you don't actually OWN is completely bullshit. you go out and buy a game for a fraction of the cost you get the disks, books, cd-key, the game itself, and access to updates for the software.
no wonder people don't go legit, because if you do your treated like a criminal.
that and for that much money, you should atelast be able to get a completely bulletproof and bug free software. and for what their selling it for they should fire their developers and lower the price of it because their not doing their job.
