Great News (for me)!

Some of you may know, i have taken on a new position where i work. I have about a month of expierence in SEO work. I have been under some heavy scrutiny by a few big wigs where i am employed because i got the position. Luckily the President of the company gave me the chance....

Anyway my job is to create and modify web pages so they have better natural rankings in google (other search engines too). This means if someone uses a keyword on google, in theroy, i am supposed to make one of our pages be in the first page of results.

The keywords i target are highly competitive and produce millions of results. Thats a very hard thing to break through on because hundreds of thousands people have millions of pages for that keyword.

Well, to my own shock and suprise, google indexed all of the pages i created and modified yesterday.

45% of these pages ranked on page one!!! the others are on page 2 3 4 etc...

I even ranked high on keywords i was not targeting! Such as a popular product that we make.

This is without a doubt, one of the hardest things i ever had to learn as it usually takes a lot longer to get ranked so well and considering i am new to this, i beleive that the big wigs will back off a little bit.

Feels good to be ranked in the top 10 when the average keyword result is in the millions.

Hmmmm, dont underestimate this knowledge you have. I have a small internet product that i offer. I have spent some time getting the damn rating up. But i can only conclude i understand to little of the mechanisms. I believe we are not even in the top 100.

Maybe you should make a small enterprise yourself

Maybe in a few years, but as of right now i kind of like where i work and i also want to have expierenece. I will say that my previous position was a highly competitive one and it seems that the powers that be have me competing against a person who has been doing this for the company for years. Funny thing is, i smoked a lot of keywords he was working on. The company i work for understands that i have a learning curve, but i am the kind of person that MUST dominate in regards to work. So needless to say i have been very concerned about this first push of pages. The president of the company is on vacation, but i think even he would be suprised to know that 45% made it to the top so fast. The downside to that is i lost my learning curve, so i can not make any mistakes or i will have hell to pay.

On a side note to give you an understanding of how competitive this is already, i emailed the guy i will be working around and he knows who i am. When i emailed him, as a courtesy i always sig my name (mike). He replys back 2 weeks later and basically trys to talk to me like he is overseeing my work (he is not, nor was he told to) and called me greg.

I know that he said that just to make it seem like he could care less who i am. So what i did was wrtie him back and said;

Jim,

Thanks for the heads up, I will keep you posted.

Mike

Seems nice enough right? Well his name is not Jim. lol

Toetag (Mike),

Any assistance you can bring to either Ninjaserve or my own site would be of great appreciation. I'd obviously like to get them both up there

well i am kind of tied upat the moment (cross country moving ). However, If you want some help I would be more than happy to assist after the move is complete.

By the way one thing you have going for you is your title.

High Performance Game Servers

google that and see where you land.

7 out of 5,330,000 is not a bad thing at all.

However, thats just for that phrase. I will look into it some and see what else turns up.

Whos going to google 'high performance game servers' though?

I can see 'game servers' 'game server rentals' 'game hosting' 'game rentals' 'gameserver' and that sort.

We need a googlebot
