Non related venting

I am sick and tired of some of the things that go on where i work.

I work on salary (the pay is not too bad). I started out as a tech, but got promoted 6 months after I was hired and moved in to the sales department.

There are 4 people in the sales department (myself included). I worked 1 hour longer than everyone in that department so i could get more money because my wife was pregnant at the time( this lasted about 5 months).

I stopped working the extra hour because it was burning me out and i went back to working the extra 30 minutes that i do not get paid for.

This month sales for the company have had a 20% decline. This includes inbound sales and online sales.

Everyone has started to work an extra 30 minutes a day (myself included). I HATE working overtime and not get paid, but with a crappy economy, i need to keep my job.

Working an extra 30 minutes a day puts me back on that extra hour bull crap. Thats fine i will do it.

BUT, two people i work with, who are not married and have NO life outside of where we work, decided to work almost 14 hous yesterday. When something like that happens, it makes ME look bad. I am sick and tired of this kind of ****!!

The sad part is this, in the department i work for three people have a 15%-39% decrease in sales. One only has a 3% decrease in sales. Thats for the month.

Now, take a guess who has the lowest decrease in sales? ME. When i went over to sales the previous persons BEST month was $30,000.00. My BEST month has been $50,000.00. My average for the past year has been $42,000.00 a month.

the two people that worked that long shift can npot stand me because my average NEVER changes and I do it in a NORMAL shift.

I am so sick and tired of working MY nose to the ground in a NORMAL and REASONABLE shift and watching other people have Crappy statistics, but get commended for working late.

What about me?

Why am I never thanked? Why am I getting the shaft here? I mean am i wrong to think that if I can maintain my average while THE ENTIRE COMPANY is 20% behind me, that they should be asking me how I DO IT?

Nope, i get told I AM NOT A TEAM PLAYER. I HAVE TO DEFEND MY ACTIONS.

If this crap continues, i am going to start dropping my resume's to companies that i know for a fact would pay me double and offer a better commision and bonus.

Sorry to vent.

well one thing that might help is next time they go after you for not being a "team player" tell them your not a team player because it makes people dependant on the rest of the team, by being self sufficent you can be more productive and more efficent in your work.

i agree with you 100%.

i was called in to a meeting last month with one of the people that can not stand me and the president of the company.

I was told I am not a team player by the president because this putz is friends with him and filled his head with lies about me.

2 days before the meeting i sent a harmless message to the guy that does not like me(he is not a manager, but has seniority). I asked him if WE can come up with a solution for me because I felt MY plate was full with work. I did not get bitchy or whine about it i just asked for some help.

he said he will come up with something. Well 2 days later i am in the conference room getting BLASTED by him and the president of the company!

I sat there and listened to what they had to say and about 10 minutes in to it, i politley asked if i may interject.

The president said sure.

I proceeded to inform BOTH of them that I do not appreciate the insinuations against me and that it WAS NOT TRUE. The one guy kept trying to cut me out and defend himself, but i was pushed around by this guy for the better part of a year and had enough.

Because we make monitoring software we are monitored. I told the president that this guy is telling half truths and i feel so confident that I am overworked that he can review my recording on ANY given day and SEE FOR HIM SELF that I was not only teling the truth, but indeed over worked.

They both sat there stunned because I NEVER spoke to them like that. I do not know if he ever went back and saw how over worked i was, but it was never brought up again.

My point is that the guy who i asked for help with my plate being full tried to get me A) Fired or B) in BIG trouble and look bad in the eyes of the president. i not only stood my ground, but i embarrased and humiliated this guy.

i'm not one to condone sabatoge for my own gain (will do it for others gain tho) but if the "guy" is being that much of an ahole just unplug his system or somthing after work and leave it overnight, will take about a good hour of his time to figure out what is wrong (gotta make it look like a janitor or somthing did it).

what you should do now, is go to the boss/prez with an harassment (can't spell that too good) claim or what ever you call it on the person that got you called into the meeting, and bring the "letter" that started the whole thing (make sure to cover ass just in case) and if you can't go to your super about a problem allways go to the boss about problems, he will get pissed with people asking him questions and when he asks you why you keep asking him, tell him your super or whatever is not doing anything about your requests (make sure to send double copies about a day or too apart, like one to the super wait a day/week then send one to the boss), push comes to shove show the boss your workload and ask for a raise based on the amount of work extra you are doing compaired to the rest of the office.

2. head to sporting goods section.
3. purchase 10 gauge shotgun and shells.
4. load weapon.
5. go to work with weapon and extra shells.
6. kill all employees without predjudice.

now nobody can talk shit about you. problem solved.

I like what you said, but this guy is good friends with the president, and is my super.

I am just going to buy some visene and drop it in his drink when he is not looking. Or scrape my balls on the mic of his head set.
