Hmmm what part of Texas is Assassin in.... :p
Ya need to move north guys. Last time PA had a hurricane was '72 and it was only flooding. Build at a high elevation and you are 90% natural disaster proof.
P.S. I gotta say last year was a bad hurricane season, but this one is far worst.

The entire Eastern Seaboard including PA can be nailed by a hurricane. A Cat 4 or 5 storm hitting New Jersey and moving westward would still be a major storm when it hit PA.
FYI, New England is one of the most vulnerable parts of this country when it comes to hurricanes. These things have hit the northeast before and will do so again. It's not a matter of if, but when will you be hit.
whew, Rita is at 140 mph now. unless something in the atmosphere slows this bitch down, a lot of people are going to be in a world of hurt when it makes landfall. if anyone reading this board is in the path of this thing and is in a low lying area, evacuate if ordered to do so. don't try to be a hero.
here comes more higher fuel prices...

Why don't we split this into a Hurricane topic. I'm sure we'll be continuing discussion on it as it moves closer.
Threads split.

Good points, good points. Though you must admit, the ocean water temperature off NJ and CT isn't as warm as the gulf, so we almost never get hit, but it has happened and will happen again.
P.S. Yea, higher fuel prices....

tells ya what Smurf, how's about we spin one of these things up to a Cat 5 and send it up your way via the warm Gulfstream. let's see how long it lasts. consider it a present from your friends in the Sunshine state. seriously though, what keeps you guys more protected from getting one is atomspheric conditions, not neccessarily the cooler waters. there's usually a front in that part of the country that will pick up the hurricane and move it out to sea. IE: Ophelia
...oh, and we'll be sure to send it through Philly just so it can screw with Toetag.
