United 93
I just got back from seeing United 93. People were complaining that it was too early for this to come out, but I disagree. This is a great movie that shows what happened both in the air and the ground. The scenes on the ground I suspect are very accurate, because many of the air traffic control employees played themself in the movie. This was a great movie, the theater emptied in silence.

In August of 2001, I went to our annual BBQ and shed roll at my ex-father-in-laws house. We do this every year and it's the only time we can all get together. There was about 30 good friends and thier families and kids there. It's always such a good day.
less then a month later, 14 of them were dead.
I will not be seeing this movie and I find it disgraceful for a motion picture company to make money off of this event. I know they are donating some of the profits to a memorial fund, but it's only 10% of the first three days of the movies run. This is NOTHING compared to the amount of money this movie is going to make in the theatres and on dvd release.
Anyone involved in this movie should be brought up on charges and punished.

I'm sorry to hear that. I never really thought of how they'll be making money, I understand what you're saying about that, but it shows people what happened that day, especially with this flight because the news media just kind of mentioned it and blew it off and focused strictly on the trade centers. The movie isn't good because of its acting or content, it's the meaning of it and how it explains stuff without being like a show on the History channel which most people find boring.
I don't mean to argue, but are war movies based on true stories wrong then? It really happened, people really died, and they are profiting and donating nothing.

Not to be rude or inconsiderate, or anything like that, but in this world of money before respect I say.
"Meh, someone was going to do it."

That's because you live in Wisconsin. I live about 45 mins from NYC, and believe me it's too early in this area. I was across the river and saw the WTC's smoking ruins the day after. This area is not ready to be shown "in depth" what happend that day.

Yeah, I do live far away from NY, but most of the country is far from NYC, so it shows everyone else that didn't get to see what really happened. This movie just shows how our country was not ready for what happened that day, and it more shows how the people on the flight were more heroes than victims. This movie would mean nothing to non-Americans. My little brother came to the movie and slept through most of it, because it had no meaning to him for he was only 3 when it happened. It is not meant to offend, but to honor.

yea, i was on top of the twin towers 2 days before they went down and then had no way home to be with family for the 3 days afterward. It was one horrible experience being in new york those days.
ill never forget, its brought me closer to this country than ever before. i knew people in the towers, good friends.
Every time i see those twin towers, i feel as though ive lost a piece of me. i have not seen the movie and im not sure i will. its just a personal view.
