Exclamation Dell laptop Flamethrowers!!

Did anyone see or read about the dell laptops that catch fire because of the lithium ion battery? I hope my inspiron 6000 doesnt burst away!!

dell is recalling the batteries. go and see if your laptop is one of them.

lol yea I told my mom to take the battery out of her laptop at work... last thing she needs to do is burn down her salon...with a computer...

Well, it is Sony that makes the batteries. Sony is going to have to recall them and pay for the recalling. Dell makes all of there parts in their system except the battery.

I dont know if im going to have to take mine back and get a new one or whatever.

I think we also got something in the mail that you could be entitled to get money back from Dell because of something with their financing... not sure didn't really read it over hard.

This is not this first time that Dell had this problem and that is why they jumped in once they found out about it.

Back in 01 they had the same exact issue and did a recall for one of their laptops then. I remember because i was part of the battery recall team.
