Um... Shiz... Give us your definition of drifting will you?
IMO Drifting is the act of getting your car sideways around a turn and maintaining that "drift" through the entire turn and consiquently into the next. The term drifting is now reference to high speed turns and blacktop only... HOWEVER!!! Rally Racers were doing this since the begining of the Rally Race's creation. To slide the ass end of your car around a turn is nothing new. I personally believe the recent explosion of drift racing among the youth of america was a by-product of that cheesy movie "Need For Speed". This fad is the replacement for the cheap and short lived tricks that are done on sport bikes. And if you really want to get down and dirty (no pun intended) there is a race where motor bikes do this around a dirt track. And I'm not refering to Motocross, Supercross, or any varient thereof.

Please... Don't take this as a flame or anything of the sort. Drifting takes skill. Lots of skill... and endurnace as well as a really expensive car (to drift professionally). And BTW shiz... E-braking to initiate a drift is considered drifting, as long as you have a rear wheel drive car and don't hold the e-brake through the entire turn. Drifting is done in rear wheel drive cars while power braking or in shiz's term "ass dragging" is done in front wheel drive cars.

Visit this link at your own risk. And for you newb drivers out there who think they are bad azz... Do not try this at home. Keep your skillz (or lack there of) behind the controller of a console so you don't endanger the lives of others.
