NVA Voice Commands 100% Converted to English.

I was wondering if anyone knew the console command in bf1942 to force english dialog? I know that you can go into the settings, but i was wanting to try the command out on bfv because the commands are almost the same.

i know what you're trying to do. if u figure it out, i will pay money for that information.

i don't recall ever seeing that console command. here's an older list of BF1942 commands. maybe someone else can point u to a newer list.

I may be on to something, but i do not know just yet, i have been playing with some crap.., but hey if mods can have custom sounds i am sure that there must be a way to create a voice pack, or something like it.

Well it is not as simple as a console command.

However, I am still working on it. As of right now i have extracted the sound.rfa fila and deleted the NVA folders and copied the USA soud files into replacement files for the NVA.

The game launches sucessfully and all sounds work (except nva).

I need to find the rfa file that links the radio commands and change them to the new wav's.

I do not know if its even worth it to do this because i am sure a new patch will resolve this issue, but hey i am bored.

Does anyone know the rfa file i will need to modify the radio commands?

By the way i am about 50% done.

Make that 75% done.

I have US Voice radio commands working on the NVA!
They are somewhat scatteredright now because the wav file names are different, but considering that the NVA only has about 15 to 20 radio commands i just need to rename some files.

I should have it done 100% by tonight.

i do not know how to compress the file, so that may be something someone can help me with. Sound.rfa is a 400mb file so idk.....but there is a ssc (sound script creator) that i might be able to mess with, but until i can figure it out...

If anyone is interested in having US Voice commands on NVA please let me know and i will try to find a fast connection to upload it to and maybe ftp it or something.

I think the rfa file will be 100% by tomorrow morining.

Ill see what I can do to help. I looked at it abit as well. It may be easier to just edit the sscs to point to the us files instead of moving all the wavs around. hmmm.. come to think about it, u might be able to rename the us one to the nva name, and theyd be the exact same. Compressing should be done through WINRFA that came with the MDT. Possibly a sound_001.rfa could be made as a small patch without having a huge file. If i get some time tonight Ill try to mess with that.

Thanks mohawk. I could use any kind help.

However, in the mean time it is 100% complete!

I shaved the size down about 100 MB, so its not a 440 mb download, it is 335mb.

I made it a .zip for the people that do not have winrar.

I have also included a readme file with instructions for install.

I tested it out on 22 hz and 44 hz on a server and off of a server. It is 100% stable.

All thats left now is a place to host it.

That is what my original intention was, but DICE got stupid and the .wav files for NVA and US are named different. Some are the same, but more were not.

What happend when i copied us directories over to the NVA and renamed the directory all sounds worked except voice commands becaus the file name was different.

Either way its done now.
