Decent laptop

I just want something to use when I am traveling to do my email, reading rorums etc it doesnt have to be a power house. I looked at this one seems ok, how good are Dells I want some reliability of course? Oh and I dont want Vista if possible.

specs:
17'' wide green highest option
2GB ram 677
80GB hard drive at 7200
Intel Duo at 2.1
256mb vid card
Sound blaster pro sound card
wireless/bluetooth
Its pretty good. I haven't had any problems. I just wished I had gotten the better vid card. One thing though, if you plug it in a socket take the battery out or else the battery is going to go to the shitter like mine. Its like 130 to replace and i don't feel like replacing it so i just keep it plugged in. So as for my first comp it Great. It does and plays every game I have right now. But for my next comp def going to go desktop and get a Power House. But I say def get it. Maybe upgrade the battery and the graphic card. I mean its up to how much you want to spend. If ur not going to be gaming on I then don't upgrade the graphic card. But def upgrade the battery if you can. My experience has been good, fast, and reliable.

Would go with a centrino for best battery life....unless that doesnt bother you. Pentiums suck power. Other than that if you are only using it for basically reading writing and no gaming, might want to goto crappy celeron dualcore. Its junk for gaming but gets what you really said done.

At some point in time going to get a refurbished laptop for just web broswing and light hacking..erm wireless auditing. Friend of mine has a relative that works at dell and can get really really cheap refurbished laptops.

Vista ftl still man. The lower end computers have issues, still very good for what the purpose they serve.
