not the war in afganistan dummies.... that was min 90% all over the world and the only country who didnt support that was north korea... im talking about iraq.

my professor said last year that the approval around the world for the iraq war was something like 11%.

i dont remember exactly what the percent was but it was low... and he argued that it was the most unpopular war in history. noone wanted to be there. and we had horrible info. etc. he had a laundry list on that war that was 4 days long when we covered 2 wars in one day on average.

and dont think he is a liberal prick too.. he is a hardcore conservative.

COACH... so get your shit straight. mmkay?

after that lecture, nothing can convince me that he is wrong.

and what makes you think that i dont realize wars have casualties!!!!?
i oughta spank you in public. hell these wars have been the most successfull in history.
textbook -> win.
none have been cleaner and faster.
im surprised it was so low.
props to the marines. god bless em.

when you are a historian and a college professor on the side. studying modern american history and go all over the world looking up RAW info on all things american and spend 2 years on the REASONS we are in Iraq. then ill let you prove to me otherwise...

cuz thats what my professor did... who is currently on another one of his trips around the US researching other historical things that are of intrest in his next book.

I'm not really sure where those numbers came from or who this guy is. Frankly, I don't care. It's still an incredibly ignorant statement. And if some professor who can pee wine and shit eucharists, waves some numbers around and says "It must be true!" I'm not going to suddenly claim to know Jesus. I can easily whip up the numbers to prove him wrong. It's not hard. In this day and age you can claim and prove anything that is unsubstantiated. It's just too wide a claim to make.

I can find hard numbers to back up both global warming and global cooling. Anyone remember the scare of global cooling? Yea.

As my final point though, if you really feel a war is wrong because it is "unpopular" then maybe we should decide the next war American Idol style. For Iran, press 1! For North Korea, press 2!

In all seriousness though Gem, how's your kool-aid tasting?

The reason we need to put missile interceptors in eastern Europe is to create some sort of stop gap to the spread of crazy people.

About 60 years ago Russia decided that everyone was sick of war after 8 years or so of World War 2(sound familiar?) and it was the perfect time to grab up some countries. They took over most of Asia and half of Europe and imposed the most life crushing government ever to oppress the earth.

Now after 8 years of war, and every whiny liberal bed wetter saying how evil we are for actually backing up the conditions of Saddam's surrender from the first Iraq war and not "turning the other cheek" to Saddam's obvious flaunting of how weak the UN is, Russia decides to invade the ONLY former USSR state that is truly embracing capitalism and FREEDOM. Georgia was making huge strides in increasing the standard of living for everyone in the country by promoting US style government and trade. So Russia decides to take them out.

What does the world do? Absolutely nothing. They make some strongly worded speeches about how they really shouldn't do that. There is no way you can compare what the US did in Iraq to what Russia did to Georgia. The US was enforcing the surrended agreement that Saddam signed so we didn't destroy Bagdad and kill him in the first Iraq War. After Saddam told the UN for F-off to everything for 6 years or so and they did nothing we decided that we could not let him continue.

Now Russia is trying to do it again. When people told them to stop they said, "ok sorry our mistake. We will stop now" then didn't for another week. This was just the first step to Russia once again taking over.

This time we are going to be up against Russia, North Korea, Iran, and maybe China. THis time every one of those countries is going to have serious firepower and majorly serious economies to back them up.

We need something to stop these people from taking over Europe. Because they are not going to stop there. Missile interceptors in Europe can prevent missiles from falling on innocent people in europe even if they are too scared to defend themselves. (sorry Covenant and Hyvatti )

I have high hopes china might turn around. They're starting to see with all the progression they are making, in the economy, they need to become more and more capitalistic. Little by little. Maybe.

Effe the rest. In todays world you have to be buddy buddy with many people/countries but always always watch your back. In this case, we are just watching our backs. Why the hell would any American be against this? It just shows me the stupidity american's have theses days.

China is not turning around. They have exploited the communist system to the point of collapse just like the USSR. But instead of giving up they decided to "ALLOW" their people to start using capitalism to bring in cash. SImple fact is there is nothing like freedom in China.

Look at the Olympics! You heard how they wouldn't even allow American Journalists free access to anything.

I just started reading a new book by Orson Scott Card ( Ender's Game) called Empire. I highly recommend it. It is along the same lines as Atlas Shrugged but with a far darker plot.

That reminds me... where is Ash???
