I have never said that Bush was perfect. He was right up there with the worst of them with caving in for what the liberals wanted.

Apparently you are not paying attention to all the crap that is coming out of washington lately. Every time one of them opens their mouth it is to tell us how we need to lose a little more of our freedom for the greater good or some other crap.

Just because Bush did a little does not excuse the fact that the democrats in power now are taking our freedoms by the dump truck load.

20 years ago no one would ever have considered telling a company how much they are "allowed" to pay their employees. 50 years ago there would have been riots in the street. We are becoming a nation of pussies that would trade our freedom for not having to worry about anything past our cable tv and cell phones.

How is a CEO's salary infringing on your rights?

You are in construction right? Who are your customers? People with money.

Where did they get that money? From working for someone that owns a company.

How did they get the money to own a company? They took the money they earned from working for someone else, scrimped and saved until they had enough to start their own company. Then they worked their ass off to build the company up to the point where they are able to make a percentage of the profits of that company. If they work hard enough and the company is good enough they get to the point where the company is sending billions of dollars through their company. So why are they not entitled to the income of their company?

Today it is all about the REALLY big companies that have hundreds of billions of dollars go through their companies annually. A company like AIG probably has over a trillion dollars go through. A 1% change in their profit would be a billion dollars. If the CEO of the company enables a plan that makes them an additional billion why would be not be entitled to a percentage of that?

Who are you to say how that company can use the money they have? Are you some financial expert that knows all the inner workings of the economy and how a gigantic multi-national company operates? These guys ARE!!!

The people that are dictating how these companies run have never held a job in the real world. They have never had to worry about a profit margin or borrowing money or anything resembling the real world of economics.

Please name for me a SINGLE THING that the government has EVER run economically in the history of civilization. It doesn't exist. The only thing policies like this get you is companies going out of business and more and more people out of work with no where to go to find another job.... kinda like we have right now.

The problems we are having right now have nothing to do with the way capitalism operates. If you actually studied how a pure open capitalist economy works all of the problems we are having would not be here.

Every time our government decides to enact another useless law it raises the cost of doing business. Well we are now seeing the results of that stupid plan. The entire auto industry has been regulated into bankruptcy. It is not just the US companies either. Every auto company is struggling no matter what kind of car they make. Hell the sales of Hybrids are down something like 95%

What happens if GM or Chrysler go out of business? Do you have any idea how many companies and how many people's livelyhoods are tied to those 2 companies? The month that either one goes out of business hundreds of supplying companies will too. Then all of those people are out of a job. All of the business that supply the suppliers, then the companies that service all of the people that are now out of a job. All the way down the line to the construction guy in Arizona or wherever you live. When no one has any money anymore we will end up like Rwanda or Pakistan.

You know that 90% tax they were talking about on the AIG people? I guarantee if that keeps up New York City is going to be destroyed. All of the people that live there and do business in the financial districts will move out. Right now 250,000 people of the 9 million that live in New York City are paying all of the taxes that keep New York running. And they are all the richest people in the country. When they leave?

The same thing is going to happen all over the country. When you tell the people that are making all this money that the government is going to extort and even bigger undeserved chunk of money out of them, they are just going to stop working. Stop making more money. Stop investing. Stop buying stuff. Pretty soon no one will have anything.

You socialist don't realize that the money we capitalists make is not yours. It is ours. We made it. We earned it. And for the most part we share way more of it than you socialists do.

If you want to make more money go out and earn it. Get an education, get a skill, start a company, invent something, teach people how to make more money, ANYTHING! Just stop trying to steal it from me.

I have no problem with rules about corruption and anti-monopoly stuff. My problem is with all these idiots in washington thinking they know the best way to do everything. Simple fact is they don't know crap and i wouldn't trust them to mow my lawn properly.

I hate that people are putting their trust in these people that are only interested in increasing their own power. The people of this country are being duped into believing that the only solution to our problem is Obama, Barney "elmer Fudd" Frank, and Nancy Pelosi. The only thing they are going to do is make it worse.

oh i agree they arent doing shit but i think they need to go way farther with socialist programs because this shitslide we are on was already happening and was already getting worse and the banks are the real ones to blame not the republicans or dems. but saying that its all obamas fault is just silly even though hes not holding to his promises nor listening to the will of the masses. unfortunately there is a need to regulate everything in this capitalist system and overhaul it into a socialist-capitalist system. dont fear it just try and find and support better leaders for the change that has to come.

Can we all at least agree that you guys are arguing about stupid shit that will never change. The other day people representing AIG faced politicans; explaining how they were spending their money. One thing was that some of it was spent on bullshit. The senate or house w/e they were questioning why they were waisting the tax payer's money on this hotel and food and shit. But the whole time these same politicans go to expensive hotel's and get food and so and so further wit the tax payer's money. Its ****en ridic. Another thing I liked is obama was going to raise taxes and such. In fact he has decided to not raise taxes as high as he wanted because of the economic situation. Not only that but he wants to increase spending. If your not going to raise taxes and increase spending it doesn't add up.
