Well it was raining pretty bad here on Monday and 2, yes 2 lightning stikes hit my neighbors house! Blew all of there in house applicances out, i.e trashed and the other hit there SUV and blew a hole in their tire, all airbags went off and they fried the wiring harnesses on 2 of their cars. They got i really bad.

So i am coming home from work on monday and there were 2 fire trucks and 2 ambulances sitting in front of my house. I though it was my house that got fu*ked up (filter test ). Anyway I come home to my wifes computer being no more than a 20 pound paper weight because it was cooked from the strike ( my office is 20 feet from where the neighbors house was hit). To make matters worse, my dsl modem was fried too.

So i finally got internet service back this afternoon and this modem is a piece of sh*t. (another filter test)

At least my system did not get messed up.

underground utilities rock! i don't worry about lightning strikes. i only worry about Florida Power and Light's cr@ppy service.( i can't believe cr@ppy is filtered)

get surge protectors(although they won't protect against a direct hit) or backup power supplies. the APC 1000va is a good one.

and if it is only partially damaged... find a 220 volt socket and plug it in for "just a second".. just to make sure that it is good and dead..
