Ok guys this is the situation i'm running on a 56k modem ,now there is no cable where i live. i'm in the uk, now this is the silly thing i'm .5 of a km away from my local exchange, yet my telephone company will not extend this line anymore for the near ***ure, and as things are i need a faster con. iv'e looked into everything that i can think of to no success, so i need ideas of speeding up my con. So any ideas will help tx.

yeah i live 6.5 km from the exchange and the max at the moment for cable is 6.0km. and they extended that from 5.5km 6 months ago.

That would work, no doubt about that. You could also dig up the exchange and move it closer or extend the wire on your own.
