Post Here To Report Incident On TS

Today about 6 of us PPCLI guys were on at o 9-12 GMT+1 thats 3-5 am est time. About 11 guys came in twice, connecting and disconecting so the lady keeps saying player. this happend for about 5-10 minutes each time. Their names were the Nword-spelled out 1-11 and Chocholate (cant remember 2nd part) 1-11. All we did was mute speakers and waited till they left. I was wondering if the admins here could look into it further (ip logs etc)

This affects anyone who uses our TeamSpeak so I can relate. Just as an idea... could we put passwords on all the channels besides the lobby. Each game can have a password. List the passwords in the TeamSpeak thread so players can get access to them. I think we would find less spammers if they couldn't get into the channels right away. Almost guaranteed that they are not going to try looking on the forums for the password. Like I said.. just an idea.

If you put them on the forums it's just as easy for spammers to find them. Look this is just part of the deal when you're a public server, it's going to happen. We try our best to keep it to a minimum but it will happen occasionally. Cannon has a spam filter in place and he's checking to see if it's working properly.

I really dont think spammers are going to take the time to browse a forum for the correct thread on an impulse that the passwords would be on it...

That's just my opinion.

Need help with testing the filter?

Sure, get on TS and jump around a few channels.

Also as a quick fix you can set it so a notification isn't played when an unregistered person comes and goes. As for actually channel spammers mute em. Or what I like to do when i'm bored is try to get them to move around rapidly. I've seen admins do this to get them time banned when they can't actually ban them. I'm hoping that the new teamspeak, when ever it comes out, is more secure. If it is, I hope we implement it to our server.

Click Settings then Options. In that menu click the Sound Notifications tab. Under joining/leaving channels highlight Player Joined and Player left. Click clear at the bottom to disable the sound notification for those two.
