Need For Speed Underground 2

Well, I have been playing it for about a week now and it still hasent gotten old like nfsug1 did. I love all the customizations you can do to your car, and you can choose what type of races you want to do in the career mode. Although not very realistic, it is very fun.

I used to be a huge nfs fan, and that was actually my first computer game. I used to have all of the games up until recently when they just lost their appeal to me, and I started to play fps games online when I got a fast enough connection. But this game has really brought me back into the series, and I recommend it to any one who is a fan of racing games.

There are also a few things that I dont like, mainly being that there are no damage models. I dont know why, but they took them out of the series, and I had hoped that they would return.

Also, there is a LOT of advertisements in the game. And not just the racing parts companies, which are ok. Im talking about huge billboards for bestbuy, old spice deoderant etc that feel really out of place in a racing game.

I actually admit that I didn't live up to my promise completely, and I am currently playing every now and then. And what I'm playing.. guess what, Need for Speed Underground 2! Hopefully either in January or in April (either one of those 2 months) I can finally go out pretty much at will and visit my friends, since I'm prolly gonna get me a working scooter... anyway, back to the thread, lol

Of course, my graphics COMPLETELY suck in comparison.. I have the game on 640x480 on medium details (else I couldn't even see the road, lol), anything higher and it stutters WAY too much.

Anyway, I'll see if I can take some screenshots as well (I'll temporarily increase the detail when doing so so it won't hurt anyone's eyes), but I have yet to unlock trunk neons so it's not as spectacular.. however I quite like my car (a Toyota Celica). Give me a while.

Do you by any chance have xfire runnign while nfs is? When i have xfire running it drops to about 5fps, but without it its around 30. This is the only game that xfire has ever caused bad performance on

Nope, no reason to run XFire, so I haven't turned it on for quite a while. I do it only for it to self upgrade, for fun.

By the way, here's some pics. They aren't stellar, but I did crank up the resolution and details so they look decent. I WISH I COULD PLAY LIKE THIS!

By the way, it's supposed to be pearlescent.. lol

You know, I've been thinking..
Since my car is pretty much sucking for downhill drifts (my absolute LEAST favourite mode), I was thinking about building a new car built specifically for that. I just don't know what to pick. I got the cash to mod it out (see the cash in my screenshots), but I don't know what car to pick. For everything else, my Celica is perfect. In Street X I always burn them. In drag, if I play my shifts right, I burn them as well. Sprint as well. Circuit is sometimes difficult, but I usually don't have many problems there. And Outrun... well Outrun is easy, I just get 'em messed up and then press down the N2O button

BY THE WAY, how did you configure the N2O? I put it at maximum power and minimum duration, because I anyway got enough of it, and if I don't I just get a few avoided accidents.. and I anyway prefer using it to get a good speed burst than just having a pathetic burst in the long term.
I didn't modify any other settings however. ECU, turbo, ect ect, don't know what's good for me

The drift races are my favorite. I use the missan 350z and it works great for me. But I never had a problem with them when I was using my audi tt either. As for changing the n2o, I havent really changed any of those settings :o

Hello, it is now around 1:30 A.M. I stayed up till now so I could finish this goddamn game.
Now I'm finally done with it! WHOOPIE!
Actually, I wanted to finish this game LAST friday.. talk about being a little late. Oh well, now I can focus on full-time study again.

Oh, and by the way, at the end of the career my Celica did change a bit.. I added a unique wide-body (won at an outrun) and finally put that trunk neon as well. Not much, really. When a friend of mine will come over in the future I guess we will have fun modifying cars, and then I will probably post pictures..

Right now I won't make new screenshots, I'm tired, and want to go to bed. Maybe I'll do it tomorrow.
