Older games

I want to install something good on my laptop that I won't get sick of. It's an older laptop so I can't play anything recent. I already have Starcraft, RA2, and Star Wars: Galactic Battlegrounds.

Is there a demo somewhere for the original CS? Most games I'll have to play LAN, as alot of the ports are blocked here at work. I tried Battlefield MP but that port is blocked. Any other suggestions?

Here's my Laptop specs:
1.3GHz Celeron
384MB RAM
8MB on board video (which seems to be the biggest prob for games)

Starseige: Tribes

it's a much older game. crappy graphics, excellent gameplay, free to download. i think Sierra is the publisher. singleplayer gets old real quick, try the multiplayer.

Rogue Spear. I loved that game, especially the terrorist hunt!

haha yes, rogue spear, i do remember that, that used to be a lan party fav.

I might pull it out, as well as covert ops.

I picked up the Platinum Edition Half Life 1 today. It came with CS, HL, Team Fortress, Opp For, and Blue shift. My question is, can I install this on my laptop and my desktop? I doubt I'll play online with my laptop but probably will on my desktop. Will it work? I want to know before I open it.

why didn't you just dl steam to the laptop at home, and use your account to get all of them (if you have steam silver edition)

ok I installed CS and steam on my laptop. I updated via steam but when I get to the main menu something is wrong. I can see the buttons but not the text on them. I can also see some text but only the first letter of a menu. Anyone ever heard of this? I know it's a graphics option but not sure what to do. The person I bought the laptop off of, had CS running before. I saw it.
