1st, bonez!
2nd, sir, you need to save your document frequently so in the event that your computer encounters a problem and crashes, you will at least be able to recover the data from the last save.

4th, do you have the latest game patches, driver updates? try updating your video/sound drivers to the latest!
5th, could it be heat? try taking the side off your pc and sticking a house fan inside.

(personally, im thinking memory leak, check the memory usage at the very start of play, then again around an hour, then at 2,3,4 - early patches were said to fix any memory leak, but check anyway)
