There’s a time limit for a reason

I will never be able to understand why admins are not able to comprehend that the time limit set for the wc3 server is the length of time one has to complete the objective. Is that too complex of a statement? if the timer says 1:30, that means that you have one minute and thirty seconds to complete your objective. And let me take a minute to remind everyone here that there are multiple objectives for each map. Meaning, that you can either a) rescue/plant or b) kill the opposing team. So getting back to the example, if the timer says 1:30, that means that you have one minute and thirty seconds to complete either objective a or objective b. admins may want to keep in mind that tactics -I’m sorry lets call it "playing with smarts" so we dun confuse no one - sometimes include stopping and waiting for the enemy to come to you. Now, mind you, I’m not saying that it's okay to sit at spawn and play with yourself for the remaining time, I’m just trying to express that sometimes a player will stop for a moment and use his head. I can't count the number of occasions that I’ve been slayed/slapped/yelled at for sitting somewhere that i know in a very short amount of time one of the remaining players with pass. The arrogance amazes me, that’s all I wanted to say

Oh and p.s. no where on the motd does it say absolutely no swearing whatsoever. it just says, or used to say, no EXCESIVE or CONSTANT swearing. Just keep it in mind for those of us who frequent your server. We have to keep and eye out to see which admins are on to know to what degree this rule applies. Some ban at the use of the word bitch while other's swear in admin talk.

hmm ,lets see...u were camping tower for over 50 seconds with a scount on de_cbble when bmb was down till sum1 picked it up...after kakshi slayed u, u started trash talking and he gave u a 30 min break? wht's so unfair about it... just a reminder ( t's cant camp unless bmb is planted right?)..so yea next time u get slayed, u could ask nicely why and not be so whiny and pathetic about it! ty...

I agree with Letalis on this.... There is a timer on the map for a reason and YES I know camping tower on Cbble is annoying as shit, but until it becomes a habbit of more camp and less objective over and over again and the objectives are failed because of this one player it should not be a slayable offense. "Do not camp until all objectives are complete" I say we look at the word camp for a minute here "Camp - To stake out a location for excessive periods of time". Now I know when people are sitting around dinking around for more than a minute and just wasting time it can be slayable as he said, but when he is doing something productive (Such as sitting in a vantage point to gain an upperhand on an enemy when they obliviously run up the ramp) it should not be slayable

P.S Letalis, watch your tone you get much further in this community without mass amounts of sarcasm directed in a insulting way.

I understand what you are saying, but the biggest problem for me is when someone is "playing smart" and everyone has been dead for 2 minutes already. It's boring. I know you've been stuck in the situation, cussing at the person through your monitor because you just want to respawn and they're both "playing smart" thinking the other one is going to walk in on them. What you end up with is a forfeit round which is useless. You can play smart by walking silently, waiting around corners, stopping and listening for a second, but you do not need to camp.

sounds like the complaint of a notorious camper. play as a team not a boyscout. you can call it tactics and say im stoopid all you want but camping is camping if you have objective do it. the objective is not kill the enemy(it just so happens you can win that way so the rounds can restart) it is plant or defend hosties on terrorist. defuse or rescue hosties when counter terrorist. you dont have to run blindly into fire but hiding and using "tactics" is still camping. otherwise you are interupting gameplay for everyone else. as far as swearing the rules are no excessive swearing but if you start swearing at the admin of course youre gonna be kicked or banned. another rule you should read is the one that says respect the admin.

I am one of the "swearing enforcers" I get yelled at all the time by the other admins because i always say something about swearing.

I have a button bound to @@@ DO NOT SWEAR PLEASE!!!

Anytime anyone swears i just hit it. If someone uses the F-word i keep it up there for a while. If someone keeps swearing i will say something a little more insistent like "You have been warned don't make me kick you."

If it becomes a problem i boot them.

If they start swearing at me i give them a 30 minute ban.

I know that the rule is no excessive swearing. I just put my message up there as a reminder. It is easy, requires a single button press, and it reminds everyone else on the server that we prefer to keep the language PG. I have not had to kick many people lately and i think that is pretty nice. On the whole i think we have a very respectful server and everyone stays focused, as they are supposed to, on the game.

The reason i enforce this rule is my kids like to watch me play. And they can both read. Lucky for me my 7 and 10 year old NEVER swear. I find this amazing because by the time i was their age i was swearing like a soldier. I kinda like that my children are respectful and would really like to keep it that way. This is also one of the reasons i like the Ninjaserve Community as a whole. Most people respect the admins and the rules that we put on the server.

So lets not screw all that up. Have you played on some of the other servers out there? You have to mute everyone in the chat because you can't even hear the game from their constant blathering and spamming the server with stupid crap.

Now as to the camping thing. Cobble Tower is a bad thing. IF the bomb is not planted and there is less than 1:30 to go, it is not a place to hang out with a Scout. It takes longer than that to pickup the bomb and get it planted. How many times were you asked to stop camping and take care of the objective? I can understand the frustration if 20 or 22 people are dead and waiting for the next round and someone is always camping the tower it can get a bit annoying to see the same guy hanging back and camping all the time.

Unfortunately most of the admins have a limited selection of tools to deal with people. We have slap and slay. That is it. We are working on expanding our toolbox. If slapping you a few times did nothing, slay is all we have left.

So drop the sniper rifle, grab an m249 and go kill some people.

I agree...and ive yelled at sgtalon for his reason. I joined the server and he must of just put on his no swearing text and i didnt see it cause was choosing team and checking stats...then i joined and died and said the f word...not to anyone...and he kicked me. I was like wtf? And he said he warned everyone to not swear and that i wasnt listening. I had a good score too

I say screw it...instead of allowing admins that are on to choose and pick what words should be kickable and bannable...and to make it easier on every admins life...why not just install a simple...low resource swear filter plugin...in which instead of admins choosing its the owner choosing (by putting the words into a simple config file) so there is not only no confusion of what is and isnt allowed, the admins can then worry about more important things like hackers, campers of objective team (need a plugin for that too) and map exploiters...so the admins can have more playing than actually admining every 25 secs because that is how often a new person that hasnt been on the server and didnt read the motd comes in and starts playing.

You know what looking at mani_admin plugin...its built into mani. Go into your files and find the wordfilter.txt add all the words you dont want used. Then goto mani_server.cfg and turn on world filtering. Its that simple...and BOOM no more swear words the server owner doesnt want.

Thats true but you still have the jerks on the server that spam the mic. They get kicked/banned.

I do agree tho that some admins are more leinant the others. But what i usually do is have my @@@ swear warn that pops up i do that a few times then a mute. Then a kick. So i mean i'm pretty lienant.

Talon altho has children and thinks differently. STILL when ppl are constanly dropping the f bomb the last person to do it is always going to be the example. That will be true in any admin's attitude on this server.

I suggest when you get killed and want to cry bullshit, punch ur cat, pillow, little bother... instead.

I see your point and I dont normally care if i die...somedays Im really in a bad mood and it calms me down sometimes playing...unless i start dying...then its the opposite.

And Think of the fun you will have saying the f and b word and see *****. So you can cuss all you want! Think of all the cuss parties you could have on the server remedyz! ***** this and **** that. Ofcourse then you get the smart guys that try getting around the filter and keep the word but change the letters so it bypasses the server filter. Those are the people that deserve a kick/temp ban.

Ps...i have a child aswell...so i see where sgtalon is coming from...now atleast I do. And i only cry bullshiz when you kill me remedyz..cause you cant aim worth beans so its a total shocker.

Also should (because steam's doesnt work) have a votemute option in where if an admin isnt on, people can votemute someone to solve that problem.
