The only time roots is really that bad, is if you're caught while moving or in the air. Otherwise it just forces you to be more accurate since you can't ruin your accuracy by moving or jumping. True, you can't run away... but that means you don't get shot in your butt. I've killed many people who root me.

I'm going to say this 1 last time. The ultimates are not designed against each other. They are designed based on the race. So just because 1 race has a better ultimate then another doesn't mean the race is weaker. Some ultimates ARE weaker. There are reasons for it. Invincibility however is far from weak. I don't want to hear anymore comparisons between 1 ultimate vs another. That is not how they are designed. It makes 0 difference. It's a matter of how much the race itself needs, not how the race holds up vs 1 other race. Each race has at least 1 other race that beats it. That is how the balance is maintained.

sorry... like i posted in the other posts.. and i do play alot in the server. And i just want to state this and i dont' want you to take offense cuz i think the mod is amazing. but i think your idea of balance is off.. cuz classes aren't really balanced at all. if you haven't noticed majority of the people play two classes and two classes only. NE and Human. Then some undead. If what you say is true that all classes are balanced in some says.... well.... wouldn't you see more people play different classes instead of just two classes who in my opinion seems to have an advantage over the other classes.

No, unfortunately it has always been a fact that undead and human get played more then any other race in the game. After that are the other 2 of the original races, orc and NE.

The reason for this is simple... Players enjoy those skills the most. Undead speed + life leech is almost hacking. Human has lots of hp and can teleport. NE has roots and evasion. Orc, well they're just power-houses.

The other 4 races, while just as good, offer a much harder set of skills. The races are aimed more at skilled players. Fan of Knives for instance is a very tough skill to pull off. Not everyone makes a good mole. However their ability to block ultimates and their poison damage make them just as useful as any other race, and a valuable asset to any team.

Crypt Lord is almost the same as NE, except that the extra damage isn't gauranteed, but usually does more. Their reflection is weaker, but gives you more armor (this combats fire damage such as orc nades or flame strike). The only thing it's missing is evasion.

Blood Mage is quite powerful in that they can easily gain cash very quickly. This allows to them use items more frequently then most races. Their Banish is more fun then useful I guess, but slapping someone off a roof can have some desirable effects.

S.Hunters are quite a powerful race. They are very good team players, healing not only themselves but your teammates. The wards help you alert your team of incoming attacks. Invincible allows you to act as a decoy to make your enemies waste their clip, or allow you to flee a battle and regen.

Basically it all comes down to preference. Obviously, the easier races are the ones that are more independent. Where as the last few are more or less dependant on your teammates. When combined together you can form some very powerful teams, with different combinations. Whether it be a group of healers in the back protecting the powerful orcs up front or w/e you choose to do.

Yeah, I showed extreme up today on militia... i took on 2 guys at once in the pistol round and killed em both. That is the correct use of it, not for offense.

Yeah thats what i figured about the bomb defuse thing, but you could always just shorten Roots .that way if they are sniping they only have time for one shot not 2 or 3.

I used to be a total SH! My play style is to always be the first one through the door and do as much damage as possible. I always told people to follow me since i made a perfect decoy/crosshair magnet.

When it was changed to a non-damage i didn't do as well since i couldn't get kill and no one ever followed me! I can see how it makes an awesome support class. I do think that 3 sec is pretty short for a non-damaging ultimate though. Mostly due to the root being so long.

I have always thought that 6 sec is excessive for root. I would say either shorted roots to 3-4 sec also or extend Invulnerable to match it. I do agree that it should not be usable during defuse/plant. Or perhaps make it so if you are using invulnerable it adds a slap or something if you get hit by a bullet so it interrupts the plant/defuse.

I am now going Crypt Lord and i have to say that i think it rocks. Bubbles are AWESOME!

I'm for SH ultimate being extended to 5 seconds. I thought 3 seconds was pretty short as well since you can't cover that much ground with that amount of time. You also can't survive more than one person. 5 seconds doesn't provide a huge advantage to the skill and I think it is very reasonable.
