You also need to install this file : http://bfvietnam.lightcubed.com/dist...40312.2254.run BEFORE you install the .0042 linded-apps package, as the .0042 package just contains the binary executables and not the maps or settings files.

Note: yes, there is a newer .2319 full instal on that page as well, but it is missing some critical settings files, and the combination of the 2 files noted above gives you a complete and up-to-date fileset.

Well, nothing's been changed in that file. That was the initial installer file for the linux server. Then they came out with another version that had newer binaries, but was missing the maplist.con and serversettings.con files, to name a few.

The file your link is to is just the most recent binaries, with none of the necessary directories or config files.

So, if you download the file mentioned in my link, install it, and then apply the file from your link, you end up with a complete install with the most recent binaries and all of the other necessary settings files and directories.

Hopefully we'll be getting a new updated installer before much longer.

Also, as far as your server goes (and I must say I love playing here, great bunch of people for the most part ) I was talking with Prym3r the other night and we briefly spoke about the max players setting.

Provided you DO want to raise the limit a bit, but without the lag over 28+ players, you might want to experiment with changing your "game.ServerMaxAllowedConnectionType" to CTModem56Kbps. For a bunch of admins over on http://bfvietnam.lightcubed.com, that change alleviated the lag, and the players saw no noticeable difference in play.

Just a helpful suggestion, and thanks for providing a kickass server (Hell, I get better ping to yours (~15ms) than my own (~31ms))

CF

Yeah, I'm always on TS when I'm on Ninjaserve. Last night was pretty lame on the TS end though..no one was on, or they'd join the channel and leave.

Makes for some quiet, not as much fun games... Though I think most of the 'regulars' were playing GC last night.

Next time I'm on BFV (probably tonight), I'll ping flood myself while I'm playing so as to even the playing field for you
