Front USB ports
I have an ASUS P4P800 Deluxe board and I want to set up the front USB ports on my board. Can anyone walk me through it? I had them setup before but I had to swap out the motherboard, and this time I didn't hook them up. I had someone help me last time too. I just got a digitial camera and I'd rather use the front ports. If anyone can help me, let me know. Thanks.

Still have your motherboard manual (or a pdf from the website)?
there should be a wire with a bunch of leads comi ng off of it - Each will have a voltage number and a = or - (usually) Find the part in your manualy showing you the usb jumpers, plug them in according to the mnual's map, and you're set.

i have the p4p800 non deluxe. that page you refer to is showing jumpers, not the extra usb headers. the headers you are looking can be found on page 2-30.
just match the plugs with the correctly identified pins on the board. if onlty adding 2 extra ports, use header usb_56(usb ports 5 and 6). depending on how many extra ports u plan on using, you may have to enable them in the bios.

Just a little insight... I have the front USB 1.1s on my case, infact i got like 12 USB ports all together, so i decidied to install them. Plugged the cables into the little leads which isn't the easiest thing to do for those of us with fat fingers...
But after like 15min, all was good, USB cables installed. Then a little later, i decided to install another piece of hardware, which should be a breeze with this nice case i have where everything has thumb screw mountings and plastic on the sharp edges... So i went to slide my MoBo tray out the back, and then i realise, my USB cable is still attached to the board... So i can either work directly inside my case (and once a gain, those fat fingers can make this a problem) or i could have fun putting those USB cables back on the little leads...
So to make a long story short, if you plan on being inside your case a lot, you may want to skip the front USB ports all together.
