Click on BFV shortcut and the giant logo appears, computer revvs up, and then - logo goes away, computer slows down, and nothing happens.

Interesting... I'm only posting because I had the same problem in Age of Empires Two Conquers. I think you just need to reinstall, but I could be wrong.

Dunno if itll help but there is also a windows update. Apparrently some pc's crash on opening video.

if you've been modding the game then that also could cause the problem.
