Upgraded Internet

This week my internet was upgraded from 1.5 mbps to 3.0 mbps but i am still getting downloads at the 1.5mbps speed(they are about 160kbps). ON the system summary for the homeportal router thing, incoming is showing up at 3008kbps aka 3.0mbps. I dont know if there is something i have to do physically to make it work or if any of you guys know what i should do. Any help is appreciated.

Yes. Do that to both your modem and router.

my provider is SBC still.

I was wondering if there could be something wrong with my line possibly. I read somewhere that sometimes a line could be obsoleet or what not and not be able to handle the higher speed.

is it possible that you're just testing on slower sites? go to www.broadbandreports.com and check your speed there. also, do the tweak test there and see if you have an incorrect XP setting such as RWIN. you'll know what i mean when u run the tweak test.

I just upgraded my internett from 4 mbps to 10 mbps ( its fiber optic same speed at download and upload )

But i think my router is blocking speed... because i took a test and it shows 8mbps

http://www.smc.com/index.cfm?event=v...&scid=&pid=563

Anyone else got problems with this? its a bad one because sometimes it wont give me internett , but if you take out the power supply and put it back in it works fine
