Graphic problems.

Alright, this time my brother's graphic's card is on the fritz. He has an MSI 6600GT AGP. I just reformatted and reinstalled Windows, installed the Nvidia drivers, and installed BF2. Still didn't fix it. The card runs everything fine and will run most of the other games, but sometimes those game will also get messed up after playing for so long. Today I'll be grabbing another AGP card to see if it works, but my question to you guys is, what caused the problem? His processor throws out a lot of heat and right now I think over time this affected the GPU.

What do you guys think happened? Too much heat? Conflicts with another piece of hardware?

wow! definitly interesting artifacts..usually with the 6600 they were rather colorful streaks, not jetting designs.

but ill tell ya right now, tell him to bring his overclock down and put a fan on that board!!!!!!!!! thats heat.
also tell him to bring down his settings. (especially aa=0x) he has his settings pretty high for that card.

i would say first drop everything down to low, draw distance to like 50, then put a house fan on the card - does that take it away? (also drop any overclocks....)
