Help me get rid of MSN Messenger!!! I've uninstalled it, unchecked it from Outlook, and edited msconfig. The damn thing still loads. I even deleted files from the Messenger dir.

I think I know what your issue is...do you run Norton Antivirus?

If so, go into the options and uncheck it under the messenger section.

The only reason I know that is because it did the same thing to me and I pay close attention to the processes running and messenger kept loading...and it drove me nuts...lol. I almost formatted my hdd because of it, but I did a clean startup without norton running and it stopped loading so I narrowed it down.

go into the prefs/settings and look for a check box that says start when windows boots or something like that

thats what i had to do

o yeah it pretty much works for everthing

don't know about you, but i completely deleted every little last peice of messenger as soon as i installed sp1
