CPU replacement fan?

Hi all...

I have a little fan on my motherboard (Abit IC7) between the CPU and the AGP slot. I think a bearing is crapping out on this fan - often (not always) when I first turn on the computer, this fan sounds like a lawnmower. If I open the case and wiggle the fan, the noise usually goes away, but I can tell the noise is coming from this one little fan.

I checked the Abit website for a replacement and they don't have one. Anyone know where I can find a replacement for this fan, or what it would be called so I could do a search or refer it to someone else? What chip is this fan cooling?

Thanks for any help/advice. I'll attach a picture - the pic is really close up and makes the fan look bigger than it actaully is.

what is it with these companies using cheap NB fans? i had this happen on an Asus board before, and have seen people complain about it on some of the newer boards too.

don't click on this DaverJ. your answer is not here.
scroll through this archive and read all of the cached "fan" threads.

You may need a replacement fan. At least the ASUS Premium has a heat pipe and no fan. (all mobos should be like that, lol)
