Anyone having problems with IE or Firefox

Today for some reason I can only get my home page and like google.com otherwise every site seems to be down which I know is bullshit so somethings wrong, my lan settings appear to be normal and my security settings aren't it....anyone else having this problem as of late? same thing was happening to my moms compy the other day so I'm thinking it's possibly the router...

could be the router, might be your DNS server.

sounds like dns cache...reboot router, clear dns servers in pc, then call isp.

Angry

I am having SERIOUS IE issues. Not quite like yours, but similar.

My issue is different i think. I have 5 computers on the network 2 wired and 3 wireless, plus I have an access point (Bridged) to the router). To make it even more of a pain, 1 workstation has a VPN tunnel to a crappy connection over 1000 miles away.

What does this cause me?

Well, for starters a lot of debate between me and the IT guy in florida. He thinks that just because he is an IT guy and the majority of remote employee are tech stupid, that i am in this category. I work from home and my wife takes online courses for graphic design and I am running out of options here.

He seems to run the same thing with me every day, its not here, its your connection....well that is not true because up until yesterday, all machines that were NOT connected to the VPN ran fine, in fact the VPN machine ran fine on the internet, but if i did ANYTHING on the VPN it would :

A: Crash
B: Lose connection
C: Run about the same as a dial up modem.

So i talk to him yesterday via messenger and we go back and forth about whats been going on (for the millionth time) and he tells me that he worked from midnight till 4 am working on a new firewall. He asks me if i am having any problems with the vpn now. I say yes, he says its not my problem. So i disagree with him and that ended the conversation.

So I wake up this morning on my personal machine (i have to point this out because i am beginning to beleive the development department is unaware that I have personal computers, i say this because I suspect that some monitoring software is being tested on my PERSONAL computer) everytime i discuss it i get the same thing, its not on there....I am not paranoid, i just know from 3 years of working there what monitoring software running on a computer acts like. Back to waking up, so i get up, go to my usual hang outs, cnn, here, etc.. and i have the dial up connection on my personal computer. Ok, no sweat, I will hop on my router and see whats up, maybe the vpn needs to be disconnected and reconnected. well no luck there. Why, somone changed my router password. Who would do that? That f***ing idiot IT guy down in florida.

I am getting sick of this and am running out of ideas, i have been going through this for 7 month straight and NO resolve. Any suggestions?

I may just have to do that. I exploded on him this morning. Only after he mouthed off to me, i exploded. I blew up so bad, that in a rage wrote an email to the president oand vice president of the company about him. I even copied him on what i said. Needless to say, I spent an hour discussing that email and my problems with the president of the company Turns out he wanted to play not so nice games and lock me out of the router. The president will talk to him and I will have access to the router by morning.

I may not know everything about computing, but I know the difference between an ISP issue, OS and Hardware issue causing bandwidth and a VPN and this is absolutley on his end...
