W32.Worm virus

When using my wife's machine tonight Norton came up and said svchost.exe was infected with this virus. I read the description of it, and it says you get it from Kazaa or IRC neither of which are installed on her PC. Could this somehow be a false positive from Norton?

Do you have any other type of P2P program or bit torrent?

Nope not on hers or my system. I'm currently scanning both of our machines, it's already found 1 on hers and nothing on mine.

Yeah we found what it was. Apparently someone had sent her a pic that was infected. It wasn't a joke picture or even a forward. It was a picture someone took from their digital camera and then e-mailed to her. The person she got it from must be infected badly.

always the culprit...

best way to get around that would be forwarding your mail through a spam smtp filter - depending on what service you have i can hook you up with an inbound filter server
