How to Ping Your ISP

hey guys, I'm basically a total nub at the whole pinging concept but lately I have a 250+ ping to every server for every game I'm playing and my machine is pretty fresh no spyware that I could find at all not to mention offline games run perfectly...I wanna call up my isp and bitch them out but first I'd like a little more concrete evidence, could someone maybe post a how to on pinging your isp? thanks a lot

start>run>type 'cmd' in the box(no quotes)

a DOS-like window will popup. in that window type ' tracert xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx ' again, no quotes and put the ip address you want to trace in place of the XXX's

Don't ping your provider. Do a tracert to a few gameservers. See at which hop where your ping goes up.

Those forums are a great resource when having connection issues.
