A little while back I was having problems with my DSL connection being cut off every time the phone was answered. After trying everything and not succeeding. It went away by itself. Just this last week it has started back up again. When the phone is answered my connection disconnects and reconnects again. (which is annoying when gaming or using IM). There are filters on all phones, fax, and sattelite dish recievers. Everything except the modem has a filter on it. I don't have a router, just from modem straight to computer. Any ideas what could be happening?

Note: turning the modem off and on does not fix this. Also it gets warm to the touch, could this cause it? if so how would it be fixed.

its gotta be the modem, call the dsl company and ask for a new modem. either that or the line coming in..

no matter wat call the dsl company.

if getting another modem doesn't help, you could try making a homerun from wherever the modem is to the NID box on the site of your house. it's ok to open it, just not the phone companies side.

It's wierd. Today it only disconnected twice (according to trillian logs). I'm positive the phone was answered more than twice. It just picks a time the phone is answered and does it.
