well im baffled
I bought me a "great" vid card, BFG nvidia gforce 7800 gsoc 256mb
gddr3. but my frame rates are no better than my radeon 9600xt.
I uninstalled all my drivers from the last card. ran drivercleanerpro, switched the cards, and installed the disc that the bfg came with and i tried the newest drivers also.
I'm not really seeing any difference other than it looks a "bit" better. prymer has a 6800gtoc and we're getting the same frame rates.
how could this be?
my specs are:
P4 2.8EE
1024 crucial ram
80gig hd
sound blaster aud 2

Has this card got 2 power supply inputs?
if so are they connected to 2 seperate outputs from your power supply and not connected to the same line.

well i've exausted all my options. updated all my hardware drivers, tried multiple vid drivers, a couple different molex connectors. I have come to the conclusion that either the card is garbage, or it's just not right for my system. so hopefully i can get my $ back. I'll just use my old card and save up for a new system. thanx anyways people

The problem isn't the video card, it is your memory. You need 2 gigs to see a real improvement.

there's your problem right there, the card needs a 100% dedicated power connector. you need to unplug one completely from everything and plug it into the card, then run the rest of the power "dongles" to the other components.
