LCD vs CRT

I have been considering buying a LCD monitor but in all the gaming forums they all recommend not buying lcd because it isn't that high of quality. CRTs are still better quality for games. I spent alot of money on a video card for great picture and gameplay. but to go out and spent more on a lcd that makes my video card look like crap i don't think so so for now i'm going to wait ..... do any of you use lcd's what your take on them.

2.6 ghz p4 800mhz bus
Asus p4p800
Corsair xms 3200 512 drr (buying another 512)
PNY GeForce fx 5900 ultra 256 ddr
western digital 120 ATA harddrive
480 watt powersupply
52x tdk burner
dvd player
and all the little cool things like led lights and harddrive cooler( bragging rights)

I use a 19" CRT monitor. However, I have been told that some of the higher end LCD monitors are pretty darn good.. Expect to pay some $$ for one that has good refresh rates, etc.

I think that IcePick uses a LCD. I know Crotch-Rot does and I even think that Unkle Ho does as well.

Anyway, mixed results I am sure. It probably depends on what you want to do. I do know that for the price of a high quality 17" LCD monitor... You CAN buy a REALLY nice 22" or 24" CRT.. Now that is a PICTURE...

Just make sure your refresh rates are decent. many lcds just look like hell when playing games.

I have absolutely no issues with my Apple 23" LCD. While the Refresh rate is only 60, there is NO ghosting or any 'degradation' at all. I can't play on a CRT anymore since I've been using this

I use a 19 inch flat screen crt and it is great. It is much better than a regular crt and great for games. No issues, exept I dont have any desk space.

I have both and prefer the CRT the image is crisper
I read an article about 5 or 6 LCDs that are supposed to be fast enough for games - pc mag or maximum pc i forget which
it definately depends on which model you get
I do get some ghosting on syncmaster 192N also tried the Sony SDM-HS-93 and it was worse but that could also be my vid card GeForce 5900xt 128 DDR
