Another question, this time it's on IP.
Before I do something dumb, I thought I'd ask. We had two PC's that play battlefield and they are hooked up on a router. We can't get on the same server because we use the same ip. Is there a way to fix this? Can I change his IP? Thanks for the help.

Well you would both share one internet IP if you were sharing the internet, but each computer should have it's own LAN IP. There should be a way to access the router from your computer to change lots of stuff to it, but it'll depend on what type of router you have. The easiest way is to connect to the router using you net browser and change stuff from there, but again, depends on what type of router it is.

That's it. I can change it, but I don't want to change the wrong thing. If I edit the LAN IP will it enable both of us to be on the same server? If so, what should I change it to?

Ok well before we try to do something that could potentially make things explode and\or catch fire try some of these easier things that sometimes solve problems:
1). Reset the router using that little button on the back
2). Try swapping the ports that the cables are plugged into
3). Reset both comps
4). Run the network wizard again
if that still doesn't solve the problem then I'll try to explain how to somehow make it magically work.

Alright, had an idea that would fix my problem. What I wanted to do was make it so I could have both computers in my house play on the same server. To fix this, would it work to buy a second game version, hence I new CD hash?

well yea, sence battlefield will only let you have 1 hash per key and each version that's going to play on a server, anyway battlefield is a budget title now.

Alright. This is my setup. I bought the deluxe version of BF. (42 and RTR) Later I got SW. I use the secret weapons disk and my brother uses one of the deluxe cds and it doesn't work as of now. So, should I buy just a BF disk, so we can bother play on the same server?

Make sure to keep track of which disks go to each PC. This way, in case you have to re-install, disk 2 is matched to disk 1.
