I just got an MP3 player and I want to rip some of my CD's. What is the best free program that is available?

part 18 talks about how to rip great quality CDs using EAC and Lame encoder both free. it is supposed to be a slower process but keeps the quality

I said "rip great quality CDs" but i meant rips CD quality MP3s

Anyone know a program that will equalize the volume on mp3s so when you burn a CD they aren't all diff volumes?

music match does it and i think itunes does it also itunes is free

nero has a "normalize audio files" which should do the trick.
