question for the guitar players out there!!

So, I'm thinking of buying a new electric guitar this week, but I don't know too much stuff about all these brands out there, right now i own a Robson master series ( i know, not soo good, not very happy with it, im not the one that bought it, it sounds ok, i guess) so what brand should i look for, i heard ibanez is pretty good, and what kind of amp should i get to make sum noise when im done with these guitar lessons -_- , thanks
EDIT: i uploaded a pic of the robson master series in case you haven't seen / or heard of it before

lol i'm taking lessons this semester too

From what I gather for a good first electic guitar, spend more then 400 bux.

That does not mean every guitar over 400 is good. Just means that you'll start some good stuff at around that price. I've always have a little eye on a gibson but alas i can't play guitar good enough to waste money on a good guitar, plus that is expensive! Fender might be a good way to go.

I have somthing called a silverstone. It's a decent electric but i can't play more then Emily by From First to Last (easy song)

Ash?

I wouldn't pick up an ibanez for a first guitar. My first electric was a gibson epiphone. Wasn't expensive, plays well and is a solid first guitar. I highly recommend it.

hmm it's kinda hard to find an epiphone here in canada, theres only a few gibson dealers here, and mostly they're in the eastern part by toronto , and ottawa, and i think theres 1 in vancouver.so anyways, what's another guitar that i could go with, i saw a lot of jacksons here and i mean.. lots, washburn, parker, iBanez and few gibsons but not epiphones... as for the other 1 that i have, i might return it back from where i got it...
