(you should see what i posted about the ati thing, but)
newegg.com
zipzoomfly.com

before "i" personally will reccomend a card i need to know what the system stats are, inculding powersupply

the thing i posted about ati
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
i have a question for you guys pushing ati cards, have you not read up on the game, it was built to run better on nvidia cards, it has an extra 500+ mb of extra code and shaders to run/look better on nvidia.

you guys are like crack dealers, one of my friends bought into the whole "get an ati card" he now has to replace it because of a hardware fault, he bought it for $500+ CDN now it's around 300 for the card, in total they have made off him, 700 dollars because they won't take his card in because they say the warranty is over (3 year warranty, he's had the card 5 months) and for him to call them about the warranty "error" it's going to cost him more money, and the site he bought it from still hasen't contacted him back about the card.

You could go with a Nvidia FX 128mb. What ever the best one is or an ATI 9800 Pro128mb, you'll mostly be wasting money for the extra 128mb, but it's up to you. For battlefield I would go with an Nvidia for the same reasons Bonez pointed out. Nvidia works better with Battlefield. Though if you want to do flight sims than you would want an ATI.

ATi is better with flight sims
Nvidia is better for FPS games and especially EA games.

Dont buy ATI - The hardware is better. but it stops there. The drivers always suck, and ATI sucks at making deals with game companies for support like nvidia does. Ask all the ATI guys about their histories of problems with the battlefield series. Then ask nvidia guys....i think i had to use a different driver when bfv came out.....thats about it

daemon tools will let you run the iso off your harddrive, as for video card, i need to know what your system specs are, including what's the wattage on your powersupply

Top of the line FX Card.. well, one that is comparable to the 9800 XT or Pro is the Nvidia FX 5950. The FX 5950 should be about the same price as the 9800XT or 9800 Pro's. NewEgg carries them as do many other companies. Beware of "brand name".

Go with a name that is well known like BFG, PNY, Asus, etc. Nvidia FX cards are built by many different compainies. Some lack good quality support and have shitty architecture of the card. That is why you need to stick with a well known company name. Like BFG, PNY or Asus. Anyone know of any other good brands for the Nvidia Cards?? I have only bought PNY or BFG cards over the years.

question for you all:

why wouldn't a pci fx5200 run joint ops? (now before the obvious pci cracks roll forth, it is not for me. some kid came into the store today and said that it wouldn't work for him. I checked the website and it said that joint ops only supports 59xx and up for nvidia, but my fx5600 runs it. So any ideas would be greatly appreciative, cause I know he is going to return)

Drayu

oh and as for other video card brands to add on to Trahn's thread. I love my evga5600 ultra. So add evga to that list.
