your gonna have to call/e-mail dell about that.

here's the questions you ask
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
I have a Dell *insert number here* and i am planning on upgrading some components in it, but before i do i need to know.

am i able to fit a standard ATX powersupply into the case, and have it work correctly with the motherboard.

does my motherboard have a dedicated agp port, if yes, is my motherboard agp 2.0/3.0 compliant.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------

only reason i made up the questions is because last dell i was asked to upgrade was a real ******* which later involved getting a new case/psu because of the way they had it setup.

How about just ask me...

http://support.dell.com/support/edocs/systems/dim4550/

I work for Dell.

No, the dell power supplies are proprietary..so a different supply would mean having to replace the motherboard as well.

And no, that system does not have an agp port, it is integrated.

powersupply recomenned is 300
your current 250 (and you can't upgrade it without replacing, case and mobo, unless dell sells power units)
so as of right now not really

Yes and yes.

You can call spare parts and order part # X2016 Power Supply, 305 Watt, PFC, SATA Ready at 800-372-3355. As for the video card, the agp port on that system is 4x, but your card will dummy down to the 4x, so you won't get the total performance from it, but the 5200 is not a high performance card anyway.
